Mary Seeger Weese

 Pastor Mary Seeger Weese is originally from Kansas, South Dakota and Iowa. She attended St. Olaf College, where she unexpectedly majored in Greek, History and Ancient Studies. Looking for adventure, she studied in the Middle East for a semester and after graduating, she served as a Young Adult Volunteer in Belfast Northern Ireland. She attended Princeton Theological Seminary where she got her MDiv and then went on to earn an MTh from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in Biblical Intertextual studies. Mary served as the Associate pastor of Trinity Ave Presbyterian Church in Durham, NC before coming to Kentucky.

Mary likes history and archaeology, creation and environmental care, ecumenical worship, mission and social justice, backpacking, church camp, bluegrass music, doing cooking experiments and garden experiments, watching Antiques Roadshow with her husband Zeb, and playing with her sons Zeb Henry and Sam.

Tyler Wilson, Organist and Director of Music

Tyler Wilson is from Mt Sterling and is a graduate of Morehead University.  He writes:

I am excited to be a part of this congregation, serving as your organist and director of music. Sacred music has always been a passion of mine. I began to study piano at the age of 5 with the intention of being a church pianist. In third grade, I was introduced to the pipe organ and was immediately smitten.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of congregational settings, exposing me to differing worship formats, musical styles, and collaborative efforts with instrumentalists. I have a healthy respect for hymnody and often incorporate these foundational pieces into my musical selections. In addition, you may hear varying degrees of classical repertoire, a popular piece, even a “jazzy” number from time-to-time. 

When I am not on the organ bench, I am most likely on the road! I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at Spalding University in Louisville. I reside in Lexington, but love to spend time with my family in Mount Sterling. Some hobbies I enjoy include gardening, cooking, trying local restaurants, visiting historic sites, and antiquing.

Child Care

Parents and adult guardians are encouraged to allow their children to participate in worship. We like the sounds of children!

A DIY nursery is available upstairs where parents and adult guardians may accompany children. If you need to leave the sanctuary, speakers are stationed in the nursery and in the library where the service may be heard.
